Even More Good News in Pennsylvania Tech: Reading Edition

Direct LTx serves the data center and interconnection needs of organizations throughout the Philadelphia area, and we’ve been highlighting all the positive developments that the tech sector is delivering in our region.   If you’d like to catch up you can see our previous entries here and here.  There continues to be no shortage of good news when it comes tech-fueled economic growth not just throughout Eastern Pennsylvania but right here in Reading.

Miri Technologies, a Reading-based startup, earned two prestigious awards at the 2025 NAB Show Las Vegas for the company’s innovative X510 dual-cellular bonding network router.  The X510 enables enhanced performance and resilience for video streaming even in remote locations by combining multiple wired and wireless data connections into one bonded link.  The Miri X510 router used tech from another local company, Philadelphia’s Connectify, Inc, which shared in the recognition. Congrats to both organizations.

Production lines are highly dependent upon technology, and the focus on increasing manufacturing in the United States has been a contributor to the growing need for IT infrastructure.  Carpenter Technology, a company founded over 100 years ago here in Reading, announced they are expanding their high-purity melt capabilities which will have a direct economic and employment impact here in Berks County.  CarTech produces specialty alloy operations products, with a particular focus on the aerospace, defense, and medical industries.

More great news for our hometown are plans for the mixed-use expansion of the GoggleWorks arts center in downtown Reading. Both GoggleWorks and DirectLTx had their origins around 20 years ago, driven by the vision of Albert Boscov, DirectLTx’s founder, who saw Reading as a future hub for both tech jobs and the arts.

We’ll have our eye out for more tech-oriented success stories.  The way things are going for our sector in Eastern Pennsylvania, it probably won’t be long.
